mktorrent software package provides simple command line utility to create BitTorrent metainfo files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mktorrent
mktorrent is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mktorrent package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mktorrent *
You will get with mktorrent package name, version, architecture and description in a table
